Because the bloodstream contains more red cells than any other cells. Because the red cells, blood consists of white cells (about one for every thousand red cells), plasma, a watery liquid in which the blood cells float, and platelets, which are cells that causes the blood at a wound to clot and so prevent loss of blood.
